A native of St. Matthews, Johnny Felder is running for the South Carolina House of Representatives to bring common sense solutions to the challenges facing our rural communities. Growing up in Calhoun County, he watched his father (John Felder) spend many years- spanning two decades as the district 93 representative holding this very same house seat.  While observing him helping people and advocating for a mostly rural district, he learned the importance of family, friends and community. Those values are the reason Johnny served as a board member and president of the Palmetto Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, served on the board of the SC Association for Justice and is a past board member and volunteer with other organizations.  Johnny also participated as a citizen, junior counselor, senior counselor and staff member in one of the most prestigious citizenship and leadership programs in the entire country – Palmetto Boys State.  The essence of community is why he coached basketball and dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice as an attorney representing a variety of clients.  He has a deep love for his wife Kim, their children and numerous family dogs.
